The Baltic Energy Innovation Centre (BEIC) is a non-profit making association providing a platform for international collaboration with activities focused on innovative energy technology in general, and biogas and biomethane related development in particular.
BEIC offers a wide range of services within the field of innovative energy technology. Through its founding members BEIC has access to 11 laboratories with top modern equipment and approx. 280 co-workers dedicated to the development of innovative energy technology.
According to the communique by TIGF, GRDF, GRTgaz and SPEGNN released on the 21st of November it would be possible to satisfy 30% of the French gas demand with renewable methane (biomethane) towards 2035. The forecast indicates a growth of renewable methane in the next 12 years from 1 to 90 TWh.
Following the projections, larger and larger volumes will enter the French transport sector. The number of NGVs will go from the current 15,000 to 300,000 in 2035, in the most conservative scenario, while the most optimistic calculations indicate 1 million NGVs by 2035.

France is nr 3 in Europe when it comes to nr of biogas plants. The biogas production has almost doubled from 2010 to 2015 and the nr of biomethane plants increased almost an order of magnitude from 2011 to 2016. However, the most interesting is the ambitious targets for 2023 and 2030, and the strong associated incentives.
We foresee a strong and rapid development of the French biomethane market in the years to come and are happy to provide REGATEC 2018 as a vibrant meeting point for the biogas, gasification and Power-to-gas community.
