VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd new exhibitor

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is one of the leading research and technology organisations in Europe with more than 2,400 employees.

From the early 1980s to the present, VTT has been involved in several European gasification projects aiming to develop and demonstrate gasification processes on a commercial scale. VTT’s own test facilities range from laboratory-scale reactors to bench-scale testing units and pilot-scale process development plants.

Dr. Johanna Kihlman will give an oral presentation related to the main results of the Soletair project and the development of a new methanation reactor.

Go Green Gas new exhibitor

Go Green Gas is a partnership between Cadent (formerly known as National Grid Gas Distribution), Advanced Plasma Power and Progressive Energy and others in the UK to demonstrate production of Bio-substitute natural gas (BioSNG). BioSNG is a green gas produced by thermal and chemical conversion of wastes and biomass. It is an affordable, low carbon gas that can be used to heat homes and power vehicles. A £5 million pilot plant has successfully demonstrated production of BioSNG from refuse derived fuel. Construction of the first commercial facility, costing £25 million, is underway and it will commence operation in 2018.

France the new hotspot for biomethane

France is nr 3 in Europe when it comes to nr of biogas plants. The biogas production has almost doubled from 2010 to 2015 and the nr of biomethane plants increased almost an order of magnitude from 2011 to 2016. However, the most interesting is the ambitious targets for 2023 and 2030, and the strong associated incentives.

We foresee a strong and rapid development of the French biomethane market in the years to come and are happy to provide REGATEC 2018 as a vibrant meeting point for the biogas, gasification and Power-to-gas community.

Looking forward to see you in Toulouse, 3-4 May 2018.

European Biogas Association and BIOSURF new exhibitors

Founded in February 2009, European Biogas Association (EBA) is the leading European association in the field of biogas and biomethane production covering the anaerobic digestion and gasification industries. Committed to the active promotion of the deployment of sustainable biogas and biomethane production and use throughout Europe, EBA has created a perfect network of established national organisations, scientific institutes and companies. In 2015, the association counted around 75 members from all over Europe and had established co-operation with biogas associations from outside Europe.

BIOSURF is an EU-funded project under the Horizon 2020 programme for research, technological development and demonstration. The objective of BIOSURF (BIOmethane as SUstainable and Renewable Fuel) is to increase the production and use of biomethane for grid injection and as transport fuel, by removing non-technical barriers and by paving the way towards a European biomethane market. The BIOSURF consortium consists of 11 partners from 7 countries.
