Sweden starts to remove COVID-19 restrictions

On the 9th of February Sweden started to remove COVID-19 restrictions.

The Government and the Public Health Agency assess that the situation is stable enough to initiate the phase-out of infection control measures. Omikron does not cause as serious a disease as previous variants, the burden of care in intensive care and other hospital care has not increased in the same way as the widespread spread of infection, and the vast majority of those at risk have now received a third dose of vaccine.

There is no longer any limits to the number of people attending events or any demand for certain distances between people. However, everyone who is sick, or suspect that they have COVID-19, are recommended to stay home and avoid contact with other people.
